Growing hair is only one part of achieving longer hair. Retaining the length you grow means protecting the strands from excessive dryness, tangling, manipulation and breakage — especially at the ends.

The Genesis Length Retention System is a complete hair-care routine designed to care for your hair from pre-wash to wash day, styling and between-wash maintenance.

The system focuses on maintaining hydration, moisture, manageability and strength while protecting the oldest and most vulnerable part of your hair — your ends.

What's in the System

1. Length Retention Pre-Poo

Protect before you cleanse.

A pre-shampoo treatment designed to soften and prepare the hair before cleansing.

It helps reduce excessive tangling during wash day, improves manageability and gives the lengths and ends additional protection before shampooing.

2. Length Retention Shampoo

Cleanse without unnecessarily stripping.

A gentle cleansing shampoo designed to remove scalp and hair buildup while preparing the strands for conditioning and treatment.

The focus is a clean scalp and clean hair without leaving the lengths feeling excessively stripped or dry.

3. Length Retention Conditioner

Condition. Soften. Detangle.

A moisturising and detangling conditioner designed to improve slip and manageability so the hair can be handled more gently.

Special attention should be given to the mid-lengths and ends during conditioning and detangling.

4. Length Retention Hydration Mist

Replenish hydration.

A lightweight hydration mist designed to refresh thirsty strands after wash day and between washes.

It can be used whenever the hair needs additional hydration, including while wearing braids, twists and other low-manipulation styles.

5. Length Retention Leave-In Conditioner

Moisturise and maintain softness.

A leave-in conditioner designed to help maintain soft, manageable strands after cleansing and conditioning.

Apply throughout the hair with particular attention to the mid-lengths and ends.

6. SealSilk™ Chebe Butter

Seal. Protect. Retain.

The final step in the moisture routine.

SealSilk™ Chebe Butter is used after hydrating and moisturising the hair to help seal in moisture and provide additional protection to the lengths and ends.

Because the ends are the oldest part of the hair, they require intentional care throughout a length-retention journey.

Use a small amount, concentrating especially on the ends.

7. Length Retention Deep Treatment Mask

Deep treatment for the lengths and ends.

An intensive treatment designed to provide additional conditioning support for hair undergoing a length-retention routine.

The mask helps maintain softness, manageability and resilience, particularly for dry, fragile or breakage-prone lengths and ends.

Recommended as part of the complete Length Retention System.

Length Retention Wash-Day Routine

STEP 1 — PRE-POO

Apply the Length Retention Pre-Poo to the hair before shampooing.

Concentrate on the lengths and ends and gently work the treatment through the hair. Allow it to sit for the recommended treatment time before cleansing.

STEP 2 — CLEANSE

Apply the Length Retention Shampoo primarily to the scalp.

Massage gently using the fingertips. Allow the shampoo and water to move through the lengths as you rinse rather than aggressively rubbing or piling the hair together.

Repeat cleansing when necessary.

STEP 3 — DEEP TREAT

On treatment days, apply the Length Retention Deep Treatment Mask, concentrating on the lengths and ends.

Allow the treatment to sit according to the product directions and rinse.

STEP 4 — CONDITION & DETANGLE

Apply the Length Retention Conditioner throughout the hair.

Detangle gently in sections, beginning at the ends and gradually working upward toward the roots.

Rinse thoroughly.

STEP 5 — HYDRATE

Apply the Length Retention Hydration Mist to damp hair.

Concentrate especially on areas that tend to become dry.

STEP 6 — MOISTURISE

Apply the Length Retention Leave-In Conditioner to help maintain moisture, softness and manageability.

Work through the hair in sections and give additional attention to the ends.

STEP 7 — SEAL

Finish with a small amount of SealSilk™ Chebe Butter.

Smooth it over the lengths and concentrate on the ends to help seal in the moisture from the previous steps.

Then place the hair into your preferred low-manipulation or protective style.

Between Wash Days

Length retention does not mean applying products every day.

Pay attention to what your hair needs.

When the hair begins to feel dry:

Hydration Mist → Leave-In Conditioner → SealSilk™ Chebe Butter

You may not need all three products every time. If the hair only needs hydration, use the mist. If it needs additional moisture, follow with the Leave-In. When the ends need additional protection, finish with a small amount of SealSilk™ Chebe Butter.

The goal is to maintain the hair without unnecessary manipulation or product buildup.

What About the Scalp?

The Length Retention System follows the Genesis scalp-first philosophy, but not every scalp needs the same leave-on treatment.

For this reason, a scalp moisturiser is not automatically included in the core Length Retention System.

Where needed, a Genesis scalp product can be recommended separately based on the individual's scalp condition, hair characteristics and Hair Quiz or scalp assessment.

The Length Retention Principle

Your hair may be growing from the scalp while breakage at the ends prevents you from seeing that growth translate into length.

That is why this system doesn't focus on growth alone.
